This summer at Wayward Winds Lavender Farm was full of butterflies, sunshine, and of course, lots of lavender. We enjoyed getting to meet so many of our customers in person for u-pick, product shopping, classes, and events. Here are a few of the highlights:

We hosted several small groups, one of them being the Monmouth Garden Club. This group of wonderful people joined us for a tour of the farm and spent a relaxing morning soaking in the sunshine and the lavender. We also hosted a Field & Vine dinner which proved to be very popular and sold out quickly. We also hosted several family gatherings, a bridal shower, a wand crafting party, a book club, the local Chamber of Commerce group, and an art club. There are so many types of groups who like to enjoy our space!

Our favorite garden gnome, Mr. Twickel, returned for his annual game of hide-and-seek with visiting families and children, and the reward for spotting him was better than ever with cute limited-edition stickers of none other than Mr. Twickel himself! Next year, we plan to launch a new Mr. Twickle sticker prize, so stay tuned and make it an annual lavender tradition to collect each sticker.

This year we offered two Family Night butterfly release events and enjoyed making giant bubbles in the lavender field while listening to live music from one of our very own farm hands, Justice Sandoz (see note below for more info on Justice’s musical journey).  Some families even enjoyed soaking in the lavender paradise while eating their own picnic together. Our first romantic Couple’s Night event was a success. Everyone enjoyed excellent wine, scrumptious lavender brownies, and a quiet, relaxing date night in the lavender ambiance. We received great feedback about this event and plan to open it for a few more couples next year. We also hosted our first Yelp Day with a turnout of over 100 guests! The kind feedback that we received about the farm helps encourage us to keep improving and expanding our guest attractions.

Our classes were also well loved this year. Angelina Octvia joined us again with two beautiful watercolor classes. One painting an Anna’s Hummingbird and the other painting a landscape of our field and farm store with the orange doors. We, of course, had our traditional wreath classes and we added a very popular yoga class every Saturday in August. All of these classes we intend to have again next year!

Thank you so much to everyone who has visited and supported our farm to make this season a huge success. Your support of our business and farm help us create a beautiful lavender paradise to share with our community. We are so excited to see you all next summer!

PS. Justice Sandoz- Remedy Fora Hidden Heart

Justice at Wayward Winds Family Night.

We are so proud to be supporting one of our very own farmhands, Justice Sandoz, in his pursuit to share his original music.  In high school after losing a friend to a tragic accident Justice found himself stuck at home during a pandemic with no good way to process his grief.  He taught himself how to play the guitar earlier in the year and decided to write a song for his friend. This way of working through strong emotions and challenging times became Justice’s new coping skill.  He is now ready and excited to share some of these songs that have been hidden in his heart for several years with the world.  If you’d like to follow Justice and support his musical journey you can find him on Instagram @remedy.fora.hidden.heart.  Even better sign up to receive email updates on his upcoming album here

Go Justice!  We can’t wait to hear what you produce.
